With all the pollutants such as lead, herbicides and drugs contaminating our water supply, buying a water purifier is really a necessary investment. It is a fact that water is very important for our body as it is consisted in our body up to 70%. Imagine if the water is not free from harmful pollutants. It will give a grave effect to our health.
One of the most important parts of a water purifier is the filters. Drinking waters filters vary in types and prices. A good drinking water filter will be able to keep the small unwanted substances from getting into our water supply. As we know that the pharmaceuticals companies are creating molecules that are getting smaller and smaller in size, making it hard for ordinary water filters to keep them from coming in.

So far, the EPA only recommends one kind of water drinking filters that is carbon filter system. It is the system that, according to the EPA, is effective enough to absorb the pollutants.
The carbon filter system is able to carry out a multi stage process which involves ion exchange that should be able to get rid of at least 99% of the pollutants. To find out whether your drinking water filter is able to do this, you can check it with the manufacturers.
Bottled drinking water is not that healthy as most people thought. The bottling and transporting process are prone to any contaminations. In addition, by consuming bottled water, you are adding up to the already complicated waste problem.
A reverse osmosis system is also a not very good idea as it will remove all the necessary minerals from our body and we know that our body really needs the minerals. If we keep consuming water that is filtered by using the reverse osmosis filters, we are at risk of lack of minerals that can lead to serious health disorder.
